Solar Installation
Our skilled and experienced teams are readily available for your installation. Collectively there is more than 20MW worth of experience that will be focused on achieving your goals.
We can handle an installation of any size and will do so in the most professional manner possible. Our project managers are on site throughout the installation, all wearing reflective safety vests with visible name tags. You will receive weekly updates on progress so that you are aware at all times, at what stage your project is at.
All access to the site is strictly controlled and you will be introduced, at the outset, to all members of the crew that will be working on your project.
We take particular care while working at heights and adhere to high levels of health and safety. We also make sure that any goods that are delivered and offloaded is done so in a safe efficient manner, into the secure storage areas provided.
Design & Engineering
Our aim is to deliver a bespoke renewable solution for you that is cost effective while maintaining a focus on quality and production. Our organisation is geared towards achieving this.
Our systems are designed by Electrical Engineers and qualified electricians, adhering to codes such as NRS 097, SANS 10142-1-X, RPP Grid Code, IEC and standard Wiring Codes to name a few. All of our systems are approved with the appropriate governing bodies before proceeding with any installation. We also factor into consideration dead and live loads that will be applied by our system, having a qualified Structural Engineer sign off before we begin.
Whilst any civils, specific engineering or fencing is the responsibility of the client, we have strong relationships with reliable specialists in these fields should you require contacts. We are more than happy to recommend some options. We believe by focusing on what we do best we can assist you in achieving the most efficient solution.
We work extensively with our clients to supply the most efficient systems while considering aesthetics, potential shading, volt droppage, roof pitch and dust creation in the area. The most critical aspect of design is the optimisation of usable space and the financial resources available to achieve the desired result.
Our Engineers and Contractors carry full professional indemnity providing peace of mind for any project we take on.
We only use Tier one equipment with warranties ranging from 12-25 years. All of which are approved by the various municipalities and Eskom as well as every bank in the country if you are seeking finance.
Project Management
Sunbird Solar has a team of project managers who are assigned to the different areas of your installation. These managers will communicate upstream to our operations manager who will communicate directly with you.
This allows for the following:

Operations & Maintenance
We continue to walk a path with you after our installation is complete. We stand by our installation and guarantee the production performance if we are contracted to do the operation and maintenance. Our operation and maintenance includes the following:
- 3 Panel wash downs a year
- 3 Inverter and associated equipment services a year
- 24/7 monitoring, comparing actual production to expected predicted production on a daily basis
- Actioning anything necessary to achieve predicted production
- Monthly production reporting
- Fault finding and resolving
- Client and Fault finding call outs
