The project
Sunbird Solar is delivering a 6 MWp solar PV system and 22 MWh of battery energy storage for Aspen Pharmacare in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape. It is the largest battery storage project in Sunbird's portfolio.
The brief
The system is designed as a hybrid: grid-tied solar PV combined with large-scale battery storage, to provide pharmaceutical-grade power reliability for critical manufacturing operations.
Scope
6 MWp of solar PV and a 22 MWh battery energy storage system, delivered by Sunbird Solar.
