The project
Village Baker uses large amounts of power to produce heat, and now gets up to 70% of its annual electricity from the sun.
The brief
A high-energy facility centred on bread, pastry and confectionery production, a process that demands significant heat and, with it, significant power.
What we built
A 215.6 kWp rooftop solar PV system, delivered cross-border in Eswatini, which required careful cross-jurisdiction planning and coordination.
The result
Solar now supplies up to 70% of the bakery's annual electricity demand. The system was commissioned in November 2022.
